This is what I've done for a living, paid or not. At present I'm mostly centred on systems administration and identity management.
More than thirty years of hard and active work deserve a table of contents.

Brought up in catholic schools, from age 8 up to 17 (1979) in St. Estanislao School in Málaga, run by Jesuit priests, but in the days when Spain was transitioning from dictatorship into democracy, so they were not as strict as they used to be in the first half of the 20th century, but strict enough to teach a good sense for self discipline and a taste for perfection, really for a sane tendency to it.
Medical School in Málaga. Graduated summa cum laude with the small thesis "Diseño de un paquete informático para el tratamiento de los estudios caso-control".
Main job: design and implementation of the user interface for the University accounting system.
Secondary tasks: administration and operation of the small data centre, that included the main node for the local campus area network, one of the first Ethernets in the University and the connection to the main campus over X.25 lines. The network was then running DECnet and during this period was connected to the just created RICA Andalusian regional Research and Educational Network and to the incipient Spanish Internet.
Main job: System administration of several VMS based systems and designing the resource assignment for users for research and educational tasks, integration in the campus DECnet based Ethernet network and configuration of the first mail system for the Computer Science School.
Secondary tasks: Running the microcomputing laboratory with other four people.
Systems manager for the "Universidad Internacional Deportiva de Andalucía" (UNISPORT). This was the first non university institution to become part of RICA, mostly thanks to my personal involvement in that network during my previous assignments.
Main task: Systems administration of the site network, computers and databases and their connection to the videotext network. It is important to note that at this position I set up one of the first web servers in Spain in 1993.
Secondary task: Management of all technical installations in the building, from electricity supply through the telephone network.
Extra tasks: Translation and review of translations of technical and medical papers and doing presentations about ICT in sports environments.
Main task: System administration of VMS, Unix and Linux systems running the core network services for the University, including: DNS, e-mail, web, ftp, terminal access, directories, etc.
Secondary task: Design of new services and architecting the evolution of existing ones.
Extra tasks: Liaising with the task forces of the Spanish Research and Educational Network Community.
Main tasks: Lead a team of seven people that manage the systems that run core services for the University: five SAN organised in two fabrics, blade systems, virtualisation services, e-mail, directory, Jabber, corporate and departmental web services, identity management, back-end support databases, videoconferencing, media streaming, etc. Also, design and evolve said systems and services and new ones. One of the main tasks is designing the identity infrastructure for the University.
Secondary tasks: Support other units and departments that require services related to our main tasks, like, for example, live broadcast of events.
Extra tasks: Liaise with the communities in Research and Educational Networks and other bodies at regional, national and international levels. Take care of guided visits to the data centre for students in secondary and vocational schools. Update the personnel in the ICT services about new developments in my area of expertise.
In my professional life, I've been involved in activities that were not strictly required by my daily jobs, but implied some kind of extra community volunteer work.
